Um SUV saiu da estrada e atravessou a esplanada de um bar em Orlando, nos Estados Unidos, destruindo mesas, cadeiras e parte da vedação. O acidente aconteceu por volta das quatro da manhã, mas o momento mais inesperado ainda estava para chegar: uma banana gigante apareceu no local e começou a pedir ajuda.
Não, não é uma brincadeira. E também não é um vídeo criado por inteligência artificial.
A protagonista chama-se Stephanie Oropeza e regressava de uma festa de Halloween com o noivo, ainda vestida de banana, quando ambos presenciaram o acidente junto ao The Moderne Bar, na Florida.
Segundo a estação de televisão ‘WESH’, Stephanie pediu ao noivo que parasse imediatamente o carro, correu para o local e ligou para o número de emergência.
Felizmente, ninguém ficou ferido.
Uma banana que não passou despercebida
As câmaras de videovigilância do estabelecimento registaram o embate e a chegada da inesperada socorrista, cujo disfarce amarelo dificilmente passaria despercebido.
O bar partilhou as imagens nas redes sociais para tentar descobrir quem era a misteriosa banana que tinha parado para ajudar.
A história ganhou ainda mais graça quando o proprietário, Michael Nguyen, revelou que algumas pessoas chegaram a perguntar se as imagens tinham sido geradas por inteligência artificial.
Mas a banana era bem real.
Stephanie, que está a estudar para ser enfermeira, explicou à estação ‘WFTV’ que ajudar foi uma reação instintiva. Queria garantir que o condutor estava bem e chamar as autoridades.
Entretanto, o estabelecimento conseguiu identificá-la e agradeceu-lhe o gesto com uma refeição oferecida.
O acidente deixou prejuízos consideráveis: só a reparação da vedação poderá custar entre 30 mil e 50 mil dólares, segundo as estimativas do proprietário.
A causa do despiste ainda não foi esclarecida.
Quanto a Stephanie, já tem uma sugestão para o seu nome de super-heroína: “Banana Bandit”.
E, convenhamos, depois desta madrugada, dificilmente alguém voltará a olhar para uma banana da mesma maneira.
